Do you enjoy planting seeds and watching things grow? If so, then Transformation 42 may be the perfect piece for you. It focuses on one of my most important symbols, the seed. If there’s anything that more perfectly embodies the idea of change, I don’t know what it would be. I still feel a sense of wonder when I see a tiny seed grow into a beautiful, living plant.
Currently, this piece is framed. If you would like to purchase it without the frame, please contact me. To look at the mats and frames I use, you can refer to Transformation 4. All of my monotypes are printed on acid-free cotton printmaking paper, using light-fast lithography inks.

Do you enjoy planting seeds and watching things grow? If so, then Transformation 42 may be the perfect piece for you. It is part of my longest-ongoing series, which has continued to evolve over time. I began making these 7 x 7 inch-square artworks several years ago somewhat by accident. If you want to find out more, you can read about it on this blog post. The juxtaposition of nature-inspired forms in this piece comes from my deep belief that everything in the universe is interconnected.
They say that the one constant in life is change, yet the amount of matter and energy in our universe can't increase or decrease. This seems a paradox, but what it really means is that everything is constantly changing into something else. While making this monotype collage, I was guided by my study of science as well as my own experiences with nature. This particular piece focuses one of my most important symbols - the seed. If there's anything that more perfectly embodies the idea of change, I don't know what it is. Seed symbols have always played a big part in my work. I still feel a sense of wonder when I see a tiny seed grow into a beautiful, living plant.
Layers of transparent inks are built up on sheets of Rives BFK 100% cotton printmaking paper. Then, pieces of these prints are cut out and fitted together to form new compositions. The colors are a balance of the three primary colors - red, yellow, and blue, from which all the others can be made. This symbolizes that delicate balance of forces in nature that allows nurturing and growth. Other media, such as decorative papers, watercolor pencils, and crayons may be added. This piece will bring a sense of peace and oneness to any room in your home or office.
