Transformation 48 represents the secret places deep in the woods, where I spent many happy hours both as a child and as an adult. Layers of transparent lightfast lithography inks are built up on the paper, then pieces of these prints are cut out and fitted together to form new compositions. This nature inspired monoprint will bring a sense of peace and relaxation to any room in your home or office.

Transformation 48 is part of an ongoing series that began several years ago somewhat by accident; if you'd like to know more, I invite you to read about it on this blog post. While making this monoprint collage, I was guided by my own impressions of the primal forces of nature, and the unseen energies that are an interconnected part of everything in the universe. The forest is a place where I've always felt at home, ever since I was a child. I loved nothing more than to wander through the woods, spending hours climbing trees or playing in the creek. It seemed like a magical place. At a young age, my grandmother showed me how to plant seeds.  Ever since, I have been a gardener and lover of all things green and growing. The overlapping leaf and plant forms in this nature inspired monoprint collage were inspired by these experiences, and by my deep belief in the sacred nature of our earth. The layers of inks and collaged papers with their jewel-like, pure colors represent the secret places deep in the woods, where ordinary magic happens every day.
All of these shapes, colors, and natural forms are 'words' in the vocabulary of symbols I've developed to communicate my experience of the oneness of every thing in nature. Layers of transparent lightfast lithography inks are built up on sheets of Rives BFK 100% cotton printmaking paper, then pieces of these prints are cut out and fitted together to form new compositions. Other media, such as decorative papers, watercolor pencils, and crayons may be added. This nature inspired monoprint will bring a sense of peace and relaxation to any room in your home or office.
Curently, this piece is framed; if you would prefer to frame it yourself, please contact me. Without the frame, the price is $96.00. All of my monoprints are printed on Rives BFK 100% cotton printmaking paper, using lightfast lithography inks.
